We offer Companies “No Contract” Testing and Background Searches services. Finding an established business that offers “No Contract” services is almost unheard of, as most testing facilities weigh your company down by requiring that you sign a year contract before any testing services are performed for your company. At American Diagnostics “No Contracts” are required, so you are free to leave at any time if you are not happy with our services. Pre-employment Testing: Pre-employment drug testing may be done prior to hiring an individual an individual/applicant to start a job or safety sensitive position. For some types of jobs regulations state that an employee cannot be placed in a safety sensitive position until testing is performed and negative results have been obtained.

Random Testing: Employers that are subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations must randomly select and test a percentage of their covered workforce annually. Positions covered are those that have been designated as safety sensitive. Federal agencies determine random testing percentage rates for specific industry. Reasonable Suspicion/Probable Cause Testing: Testing is initiated when an employee in Safety Sensitive Position is suspected by their employer of using a prohibited drug or consumed alcohol on the job. That employee will be required to submit to drug or alcohol testing. This decision will be based on the supervisor’s assessment of the employee’s physical behavior or performance that indicated reasonable suspicion.

Post-Accident Testing: An employee may be required to submit to a drug test if the employee was involved in an accident while on duty.

USCG & Merchant Mariner Testing:

American Diagnostics is a full service, Certified & Accredited Sponsoring Organization for the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Anyone that needs United States Coast Guard (USCG) drug testing performed is able to utilize our clinic for all of their Credential & License renewal testing needs. We have been testing for the USCG and Merchant Mariners since 2002. American Diagnostics facility is also able to be found through the Coast Guards web page as an authorized Drug Testing & Consortium provider. Merchant Mariner Testing for Credentials & Licenses are collected at our facility and then sent to a SAMHSA Certified Laboratory for testing as required by the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Testing is offered to all COR, MMD, MMC and USCG Safety Sensitive Positions that need drug testing performed before they can start or continue work.

We understand and comply with Coast Guard SAMHSA requirements on Drug Testing and reporting methods required by the USCG. Merchant Mariners requiring drug testing in order to fulfill their Credential or License requirements. Merchant Mariners are required to get testing every 6 months in order to remain sea worthy and stay current on all USCG License requirements.

At the time of testing our facility supplies Merchant Mariners with the required DOT/USCG Periodic Drug Testing Form that is filled out along with the Federal Chain of Custody Form. After the lab finishes the initial test results the finding is then sent to the Certifying Medical Review Officer (MRO), after the MRO determines final test results they sign the Periodic Testing Form and it is reported along with the completed SAMHSA drug test results.

Upon completion of the MRO’s final determination of the test the results are reported to American Diagnostics and then reported directly to Merchant Mariner.  American Diagnostics follows USCG reporting requirements by giving the Merchant Mariners a completed copy of the test results for their own personal records as well as an additional sealed copy of the drug test results so that the Mariner is able to submit those completed results directly to the requesting official during the initial application or renewal process.
